There seem to be "fires" (real and metaphorical ones) everywhere right now. I'm having a hard time trying to either focus my empathy in one area to hopefully make positive change, or spread a little bit of it around everywhere. Afghanistan, Texas, forest fires, hurricanes, COVID, gun deaths etc. Shoot, even the attack on the Capitol seems like a thousand years ago. One thing that seems to bug me the most is that with some of the most extreme reactions (to Afghanistan, to COVID - mask mandates in schools etc) I really think this small minority of people in this country are taking huge swings with their "ideology" and putting a bigger dent in our society than they really should given their lack of wide public support.

I'm less a person, with fewer rights, because of what's happened in Texas just because I don't have a penis.

I really, really, really, really wish that no woman would have sex again in Texas until this law is gone, but that's never going to happen. There are women there, and elsewhere, championing the subjugation of women. They won't know they're Serena Joy until it's too late.
