It's a bit muddled. Il Papa saying it's OK for Catholics to take it is not the same as him saying Catholics must take it (or that them being required to take it would be OK).

We know from the debates here on other matter pretaining to the church that there are quite a few cafeteria Catholics (not a slam at anyone posting here).

You pretty much have to be a cafeteria Catholic to stick with the church at this point. The idea that an organization where its employees have raped millions of young children worldwide has any form of moral superiority is a joke.

Pope Francis, the Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church, infallible in matters of faith, has declared emphatically that the COVID vaccine is fully in keeping with practice of the faith.
The only religious figure urging against the vaccine is mucho macho rough tough fatfuck god emperor.

Yeah frankly Pope Frankie should take the bull by the balls, go beyond "morally acceptable" and "good conscience," and say Catholics have an active responsibility to get the vaccine if possible, to protect the health of the human community at large. Et in saecula saeculorum, Amen.

And tell the US Council of Bishops they can suck it, and that's straight from the Vicar of Christ.

I don't understand how you can be a faithful person, and not understand that you do not have the right to be a virus vector. Love thy neighbor? Hardly. American religion is like American republicanism, basically: "I get mine and screw you."

This chart shows the percentage of Americans who have received at least one vaccine dose. Combine them with the 42 million people (or well over 100 million, according to this One in Three Americans Already Had COVID-19 by the End of 2020 | Columbia Public Health) who already have had the virus (allowing for some overlap, of course) . . . and there just can't be that many more people left to infect/opportunities for spread. Can there?

There’s two less to spread it to in my house, as Covid has finally landed here.

Between youth football and school, it was probably only a matter of time.

My 11 year old came to my house Friday, we had a football game Saturday, and last night the started to getting a headache. He and I both tested positive today.

My girl left home on Thursday for a trip and was on her way home today. She stopped and took an at home test and is negative.

Just waiting to hear from my kid’s mom to try to maybe understand where this started from … and otherwise mentally preparing for 10 days quality time for him and I.

Sorry to hear, but I'm sure y'all will be fine. Biggest boost to your mortality risk will be from the steadily increasing desire to strangle one another!
