I may have told these stories before, but they are relevant to the turn in this thread. In the fall of 1975, a friend of mine who was working as a Cambridge cabbie met me after work and said he'd had a strange day. "All I did was drive one guy around from place all over Boston. This nut told me he was running for President." I asked who he was and my friend replied. "I forget the name. Some guy from Georgia."
A few years later, my father told me he'd attended some business organization luncheon in NYC. He'd been seated between Julian Bond and Richard M. Nixon. I immediately asked what the hell they had talked about.
    "Baseball," my father answered.

When Hunter S. Thompson finally got one-on-one time with Nixon on the campaign trail in 1972, they sat in the back seat of a sedan somewhere in New Hampshire and talked about football.

If a reporter came to me with a story idea about how Jan.6 was a false flag, I'd fire them on the spot..

The closest I’ve come to a president is seeing a limo with the Obamas drive to and from a high school in San Bernardino to meet with families of the victims of the terrorist attack in the city in 2015.

I stood in a field and street across from the school for hours, even had my car sniffed by a dog and marked by the Secret Service. I had arranged with a victim’s loved one to call me after he met with the Obamas. I called him after the limo left and he told me he had been home for a couple hours and forgot to call.

From a reply: (JZrant) “Greed & immorality have no conscience.

The mistake the "rational world" continues to make is believing these grifters will eventually come around & be rehabilitated.

Many wars were lost underestimating the enemy. The way things are going~it doesn't look good for the home team.’’
Says it better than I said it earlier. Except I believe we (home team) will still come out on top - after we finally realize we have a real fight on our hands.
The sad part - the exact same type of battle will take place 150 years from now. Because even after they lose, these people will hang on to whatever we allow them to hang on to, just like after the civil war, and build it and build it until they are ready to try again.
We don’t have the fortitude, or mechanism, to destroy it completely.

Carter is the only POTUS, I've seen ... and for the record, when I said that might be the greatest experience of my life, I didn't mean seeing Carter; I meant seeing the Secret Service rough up somebody because they were stupid.

Oddly enough, I've seen a host of VPs: Quayle (as a candidate), Gore (as a senator), Cheney (as SecDef), and Pence (as VP but thankfully not speaking and at a distance).

I don't know if we have the stomach for bloodshed in this country, but it's going to come to that sooner rather than later. It's the only thing that will knock sense into people emboldened by a liar and a despot whose words are being repeated by influential people more desperate to stay in power than believe the truth.

The next "insurrection" is going to feature real bullets.

There's a misunderstanding in this country that the only people willing to fight for what they believe are the people on the right. I don't really want to classify them as Republicans, but I think there is a certain segment that wants to pick up guns and shoot their neighbors. I also think there is a large percentage of people I would classify as Republicans who are not interested in shooting their neighbors and friends with whom they disagree. But everyone seems to think that those people are the only ones who own guns. Now it may be true that there are some people in that category that are the only ones who own arsenals. But the thing is, I might only own one gun, but I pretty honestly don't give a fuck who I shoot with it if I am threatened. I mean, I did once punch a teacher in the face in 8th grade when he came up from behind me and grabbed me. But I digress.. . I know a lot of gun mamas who when faced with having to pull a trigger and shooting a human person, they would never be able to do it. I would.

Shared a moment with Bill Clinton on a rope line, about 30 years ago. His presence was overwhelming and frankly left me a little tingly. And then I met George HW Bush at an event for kids somewhere, long after his presidency, and he was just a nice man.
