That was very cool, on both sides.

Young Woods obviously looked great, seeing all the clips that filled my feeds. I drew the line at watching the broadcast, knowing that the fawning from NBC would be off the charts. If Team Woods had won the thing, hoo boy, I can’t even imagine.

For the people who wonder why you see every Tiger shot.

Kyle botched the context on that tweet, but the fact that a silly-season captain's choice could draw those sorts of numbers is impressive.

    It wasn't a silly season captain's choice.
It was a tiger woods and his son event. That is fucking catnip to people like my wife.

It would've been astonishing if the broadcast of the first appearance by Tiger Woods on a golf course since his accident didn't get big numbers. The curiosity factor alone was off the charts.

I don't disagree, but it was by definition a non-sanctioned, silly-season event. Not saying it wasn't of interest to people. It clearly was.

I interrupt this thread about some Tiger Woods guy to mention I shot 87 this morning on a cold, windy day (39 degrees on the first tee) with greens slicker than bug snot -- and they rolled the back nine while we were playing! -- for the first time making full swings since the surgery in September, with a bagful of mismatched clubs, including ladies' woods and irons, because mine are still in Supply Chain Grips Limbo.

Merry Christmas, duffers! Grip it and rip it.

OK, back to Tiger not in the Woods.

Damn supply chain. Still haven't received the Ping hybrids I ordered in July. And the forecast in Indy from Dec. 25-27 will be 62, 56 and 60 degrees. The courses that haven't shut down yet are gonna make some bank.

Lots of courses still open here, but not seeing a lot of play as I go by them. Probably because the mountains are getting slammed with lots of powder and, well, it's snow season in the high country.

The course I played Monday was full up. I played nine holes very poorly and everything hurt -- my new hip, my old arthritic ankles, quad muscles. I never got loose, never found any rhythm, hit maybe 4-5 good shots. Very dismal.

We had a 1:30 twilight starting time and we showed up an hour early in case we could get out earlier. No dice. It gets dark around 4:45. Figured to get in 13 or so. There were only a couple of groups after us and I think they were twosomes. We had a foursome, my brother-in-law and two singles we didn't know.

We finished No. 12 at 4:30, so we were on track for 13 holes. One of the guys we played with said we should go right to No. 18 to finish up. The 13th and 18th tees were close by. We did that and found a group on the fairway. Once they cleared, my BIL hit his drive. Just then another foursome pulled up having just finished No. 17. It was their turn so we stepped aside and let them play 18. Our two singles called it a day and left.

My BIL said he wanted to go back and play No. 13. He turned into a machine. Playing by himself, he hit every fairway, knew from the trajectory of his drives approximately where every shot was going. He hit most of the greens, but putted like shit. He played 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 in about 45 minutes. Never hit a stray, always found his ball even as darkness was setting in. As we rolled up to 18, he wondered if he could find the drive he'd hit about an hour earlier. But there was another group on the fairway, so we bagged it.

    Playing tomorrow.
65 and winds under 15 here on Dec 23.
    Feels like April not December.

I went PXG in Oct and got mine 5 days later delivered. I’d say give them a try.
