I'm sure she'll use her official account to tell her constituents about all the important legislation she's introduced and what committees she's serving on. Oh yeah ...

And they'll lose the vote because Schumer's promises are empty.

Do you think dumping the filibuster is wise? Do the Democrats even have 50 votes?

At some point the Senate has to get back to governing. Ending the filibuster might actually encourage compromise and collaboration between the 60-70 Senators who are centrists.

The Senate is broken. Enabling a minority to stop legislation, or even debate on potential legislation, is one of the reasons why.

Read too fast. Thought for a moment it said *lick* him in the nuts. And that just seemed odd.

More accurately, the vote will never happen because Schumer's promises are empty.

Supposedly Manchin is willing to address voting rights via a rules change. That sounds like a "carveout" to me, but I guess they're not calling it that. I can't keep track.

I’m certain that if the filibuster is weakened, the Republicans will use it to push through policies I’m opposed to once they regain control. But the Democrats have to eventually do something besides sit very quietly in the corner and hope that Daddy doesn’t hit them after he’s been drinking again. This age of governance by inertia has left the body politic in a state of septic shock. Time for both sides to own their actions and be held accountable for them (good or bad) instead of hiding behind the skirts of an arcane parliamentary procedure. The republic can’t stand much longer if we keep on the current path.
