No such tradition here in New England. As a rule, the first weekend in January where the weather isn't too cold or rainy or snowy is when folks take them down. A bad enough month of weather in January and you'll see plenty of lights up for the Super Bowl.

This one's a keeper, sure, but...you let your team down, @RTE!

And then yesterday afternoon, my MIL came and took down our tree. The woman can be a saint sometimes.

I always used to save SI's preview issues until the end of the season to see how they did - always interesting reading in hindsight. This was from late last year. Actually a lot of good information - and it isn't like nobody saw a lot of the problems we dealt with this year coming.

On a separate note - personally - 2022 will go down as one of the more momentous years in my life. It was tragic, and also full of joy. Attended two weddings of longtime friends, but also more funerals and memorial services - saying good bye to many people who were incredibly kind to me and I will miss dearly. One of the services brought about a great family reunion - so a sad occasion, tempered by reconnecting with loved ones. I was burned out of my apartment, but have the good fortune of having family and friends to lean on until I find my next residence. I visited great sites, and accomplished tasks that have been on my "list" for a long time. My political involvement yielded some amazing results, Work was challenging, but I also learned a lot about myself and feel well-footed for whatever comes in 2023. This year was tough, with many shocks coming out of nowwhere - but I'm still standing. In short, I think of the MLK quote - the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice - I'm hopeful that that the arc will become more pronounced in 2023.

    Happy New Year SJers.
    Better times ahead in 2023.

Happy New Year to all y'all.

Pretty sure 2023 marks the 20th year of me hanging around this site. It's been pretty damn entertaining.

    Here's to many more.

Andy Cohen, seemingly sloshed, giving Nick Cannon some fun business about his 12th kid and what his "plan" is ... 15? 20? "Vasectomy?"

Nick laughed it off but it was an odd bit of drunk NYE'ing.

Between this and the utter crap that is his "Real Housewives" idiocy, Andy Cohen does himself no favors.

It's not that Nick Cannon isn't above some serious needling. But I'm not sure Cohen needs to be the one dishing it out.
