That incident happened a year ago and the news broke last August. He was on Jeff Session's staff as well, before Gov. Ivey, and also worked for a very powerful and incredibly corrupt law firm, Balch and Bingham, which has just landed back in the news after a local judge had to resign after news relating to covering up Balch's involvement in a crime that sent Representative Oliver Robinson to prison. They hired Robinson to use his influence in his district to convince local black folks not to sue for making their neighborhood a superfund site. They got Alabama Power off the hook for a while but it looks like the case has blown up.

I'll dig up more on that one in a bit, it's a disgusting story and it looks like Balch really is in deep shit over what is coming out years later.
