They changed it Micro - it's now a "postmarked" on election day thing - which actually makes things more confusing if you ask me, since last pick-up times vary from mailbox to mailbox and post office to post office. Easier to do the drop dead 8 p.m. deal. You drop you ballot into mailbox at 8 p.m. in most of the state - it will not be postmarked.

 

Regarding Mamet - I've never understood how people can veer so hard right as they grow older. It's not just years of "wisdom accumulation" making them have a better understanding of the world and that a lot of liberal flights of fancy they may have been fine with at a younger age, while idealistic, are not practical. Or maybe as they grow old they're just scared by a world they no longer consider "theirs" and they feel marginalized and threatened. I know Mamet got into MMA a bit - is that it?

The bane of my existence is the phrase "we've always done it this way."
For example, I belong to some civic groups where me being 50, I'm considered young even though I've been in it for 29 years. Anyway, we have an annual event that covers two Saturdays in April. It's the third and fourth Saturday. Sometimes, Easter weekend falls in there. When some of suggest adjusting the schedule to the second and fourth Saturdays to avoid the conflict, some of the geezers lose their minds. "But we've always had it on the third and fourth Saturdays!" There is no reason it couldn't be moved to any Saturday of any month other than geriatrics can't handle it.
