If Disney did any such thing, it didn't spend much time doing so.

Taking on the Mouse is going to be DeSantis' Waterloo.

Disney IS Central Florida. The old adage is never pick a fight with someone who buys their ink by the barrel and paper by the truckload. Disney owns the ink, the paper, the trucks, ABC/ESPN, the parks, the hotels, the restaurants and the cruise ships.

At last look, 75,000 people are directly employed by Disney in Florida. Now add the people who operate the off-property shuttle buses, taxis, hotels, restaurants, gift shops, airport and cruise port employees who depend on the Magic Kingdom/EPCOT/Animal Kingdom/Hollywood Studios and its millions of guests. Oh, and don't forget the massive tax income that the Mouse provides to Tallahassee so the rest of Florida doesn't pay income taxes.

The company turned almost $70 billion in revenue in 2019. Even with the pandemic, Disney is awash in cash. And the Mouse has had 75 years of experience at getting its way with local lawmakers. I doubt Disney has any shortage of highly-motivated lawyers ready and willing to sue the pants off the governor and exert some serious pressure on Orlando-area politicans.

You want to be the lawmaker to tell Florida kids, "I voted against Mickey Mouse?"

He can PedoWorld all he wants but at the end of the day, Disney will kick his ass. He hasn't got a chance in hell of winning a PR war with a company that basically invented the modern theme park.

As was pointed out earlier, Disney can throw enormous(e) sums of money at his opponent -- or opponents of his cabal. Disney was in Florida long before DeSantis even thought he was a big cheese, and they'll be there long after his political career craters.

If he isn't already leading the polls, he'll soon take the lead. This is an advantage for that klan.
