I also don't understand mocking people or giving them the side eye for wearing masks. Isn't part of "muh freedumz" the right to do what's right for you?

 

No, in America freedom is only doing the things that stupid people want. No vaccines. No masks. No personal space. You are only truly free is that is your stance.

 

To Trumpists, freedumb does not only entail the absence of guvmint intrusion. It also means the ability to rant and claim grievance against perceived opponents.

 

Market Basket mask check. Of course, fewer worn (on an uncrowded morning for this store) than before. BUT, I'd guess 50 percent. More olds than young, more women than men. Masking unanimous among old Asian women. Due to trips to H-Mart, I'm scared of that ferocious subset of shoppers, so I followed their example.

 

H-Mart is my happy place.

Yeah, it’s been a bit over the top for my tastes. I agree having everybody shed masks mid-flight was a dick move, but the histrionics do not match what has already been happening in most of America.

 

Even with the complete abandonment of testing, cases are rising.

The amount of flat-out assholerly we're seeing everywhere hit close to home on Easter Sunday.

I was minding my own business filling my tank when a pickup started approaching...and approaching...and approaching...As the driver saw my surprise, he paused. Then, inched ahead even further.

As he got out, I asked, with no hint of anger, "Excuse me, would you mind backing up a bit? I need to get in my trunk."

Bearded asshole's reply: "Yeah, I do. You can just pull forward."
Wait, what?
"Seriously? Look how close you are, can't you give me a little room?"
BA's reply: "It's not my fault you don't know how to drive."
"Wow. OK. I see you're one of those guys. Well, have a blessed Easter."
BA's reply: "Fuck you."
"Have a wonderful Easter. I'm sure Jesus died for your sins..." and turned away.

To which a woman at the pump adjacent said, "Wow, you're handling that so much better than I would have..."
