It'll be a real test if Charlie Crist can wrestle the job back from DeSantis.

Remember, Runamok Ronnie only won 49.6-49.2 over Andrew Gillum in 2018, trailing in almost every poll until Election Day. He got beat in every large county, with the exception of maybe Jacksonville and southwest Florida, which runs deep red. He's popular in the Panhandle and rural areas of the state but not where a lot of the growth is happening.

Since then, he's killed off 75,000 mostly Republican voters and counting. And now he's decided to piss off Orange and Osceola homeowners. So the key question is, how many of the 1,500-a-day new Florida residents are coming from red states or blue ones?

Trump hath taught his political children that it's OK to say and do whatever you want. There will be no negative consequences for your actions. The only certain consequence will be your increased fame, and that's good, right?
Gov. DeathSentence is apparently raising taxes on the people of Central Florida. I thought only suckers paid taxes of any kind. Isn't that the Trumpist dogma?

Here's what I don't get: Who's paying for all these services now? Not Disney. And apparently not the state or Orange County. Who, then?

Man who wrote the book on Disney and Florida warns of economic fallout from Reedy Creek dissolution
But now, more than 50 years later, lawmakers have passed legislation that would revoke the park’s special district status.
Foglesong said dissolving Reedy Creek would mean all the services the district provides would have to be paid for by either nearby local governments or by the state.

I'll believe it when I see it.. Trumpist voters in SEC states never get turned off.

Doesn't DeSantis have a rather comfortable lead in the polls, COVID and all? I'd like to think there's no chance he has at re-election, but nothing would surprise me.

According to state-to-state migration tables from 2018 to 2019, about 57% of new Floridians came from blue states. So the Trumpist klan had big gains -- not only getting more people in DeathSentence's gulag but luring them from the Godless libruhl states.

Of the five polls listed here, I'd trust the St. Pete one the most -- their survey includes way more responses -- so you're talking 5-6 percent lead right now? But a lot of stupid things can happen between now and November.

Many of these polls are several months old. It'll get closer, but the GQP will find a way to do anything it must in order to ensure re-election. Gov. DeathSentence will start a POTUS campaign in case Trump falls ill, but he'll be ready and willing to step into the VP's slot if necessary. And the Constitution will be amended so that the nasty issue of having both POTUS and VP from the same state goes away. They'll have enough state legislatures by then to blowtorch the entire Constitution anyway.

The way Abbott is posturing, I wouldn't be surprised if he and DeSantis aren't the tag-team villains in 2028, assuming the Orange Cheeto runs again in two years.

Got a sneaky suspicion those tax hikes will hit after Election Day.
