This happened today:
A mid-70s neighbor was walking by as I got my mail. I don’t know her but frequently see her walking her dog and wave as we pass. The dog is lagging behind so I jokingly say, you better keep moving or you get this jury duty summons (which came with the mail). The woman says: “With Biden, you get jury duty every time you turn around. I hate our President. Our gas is $7.80 a gallon.”
I retreated into my garage because I don’t engage with idiots, but so much was wrong. I didn’t know POTUS controls county courts and wow, gas went up $2.20 in the two minutes since I passed gas stations on my way home. But worse, who says that to a stranger? She doesn’t know me. Does she assume everyone agrees with her?
I know there are crazy Democrats too, but none have ever engaged me unprovoked about politics like Republicans do.
