A third of Florida is abnormally dry or in moderate drought, especially the area around Lake Okeechobee. A rain-maker would definitely be welcomed, if the damn thing doesn't blow up into more than a Cat 1. (And it's pretty early for Gulf temps to be too out of whack.)

More properly, Alex is leading off, Bonnie is on deck and Colin is in the hole.

Starting to get a little impatient with my public adjusters. I figured it would be a 6-9-month slog, but we've passed 9 months, hurricane season is here, my insurance company is raising the premium 50% effective July 9, and I still have a 23-year-old roof on the house (seriously surprised insurance even kept me).

Could've settled in January for enough to get a roof but let them talk me out of it.

The lede is getting buried: Bermuda is going to get whacked again. The trailer park of islands.

I got a letter yesterday from our insurance underwriters suggesting we increase our coverage because of the increase in materials and values.

Is there any invention/innovation that is not a direct provider of transportation that has had a greater impact on American demographics than air conditioning?
