    Alabama is a beautiful place, lots of lovely people here, but the state itself is a pit of bad history. The 1902 Constitution is the worst governmental document I know of. It enshrined two things deep into law: Jim Crow laws and low taxes for large landowners. It's a place with corrupt, ignorant, inbred political power structures.

    Oh, I don't think he's the type to commit another act of firearms murder. But he is stupid enough to cheat on his taxes (or just not pay them) or to be a chronic domestic violence guy who gets popped eventually.

    One of 2.5 Confederate holidays here. There is also Confederate Memorial Day and Robert E. Lee Day, which co-habitates with MLK Day.
