It's not a race car, but I'd rather have this. You can actually take it out and run it - as long as your insurance is good for a million plus. That's for a replica. There are 14 originals, they're in the $14-15 m range. Jaguar XKSS.

Some of the coolest cars I've ever "owned" were Aurora slot cars in the 1960s, miniatures of Lotus, Ferrari, Corvettes, etc.

Much cooler than the Carolina blue 1971 Vega Kammback that was my first car, a real WNY rustbucket. Bess, bless her heart. Got me through my senior year at Three Chopt Tech and then out to North Nowhere, where she died a glorious death in her first winter of 30 below. Her muffler fell off one August night just east of Williston and I drove all the way back to Minot waking up half of Western North Nowhere.

Memories of my mother and that freaking 1973 Vega. Thank goodness my stepfather came into the picture and introduced me the automotive world.

As much as I enjoy the ICE sound and feel (which made me avoid a Tesla 3 or other EV), it looks like its getting better and I may reconsider:

Hyundai might have hit the right notes.

The Hyundai and the Yugo came available in the same year that I was starting to look at driving and thinking about what I wanted to drive. I think Hyundais still suffer in my mind, even though they've been available for more than 30 years.

All the other ‘greatest’ race cars are, of course, really fighting it out for second place. This Mercedes is the greatest race car ever built.
