Derp. The longer I own my phone the worse it gets at recognizing my voice.

Been in Brooklyn (Crown Heights) the last two days apartment hunting for the kid and her two roommates. I'm completely drained, and have a day to go. But damned if I didn't just find a great, great bar.

I'm gonna sit for a while and thank whatever spirit there might be out there for all the blessings I have.

    Cheers.

Seeing the automated email from Streeteasy that the Brooklyn apartment you've submitted for your daughter is "in contract" and knowing that YOUR group IS that contract.

Looooooooong way away. Send good karma (even if you don't think I deserve it...because the girls and her friends do.)

She’s bankrupting her poor journalist dad! Good luck to Ms. SoontobeCollegeStudent.

    We got it.

And, by we, I mean my kid and her dear friends.

I also mean me, who took the lead among her friends' families to visit Brooklyn and tour 10 places and write email reports on each visit for them.

Signed the lease and wired a bunch of money. Everybody's thrilled. I want to go back.

    Raise a glass tonight. Cheers.

Good for y'all. What an ordeal for you, I bet.

Meanwhile ... Where in Brooklyn? What's the rent, and now big/nice is the place?

UNC I don’t think I’ve given you my admiration. Good job Dad.

I’ve seen my close cousin (born again) reject her daughter and then be irked at my wife because we have the daughter refuge. Now my son may be gay or bisexual, he hasn’t decided but he’s currently become close to another boy.

I told him today after playing tennis while we’re taking a water break “hey you know I don’t care who you are attracted to right?” And his response was “yes, thanks Dad, you’ve told me before but it means a lot to me.”

My niece caused a family Facebook stir when she posted a pic of her with the caption "I'm Bi."

Turned out she was posting that she was diagnosed as bipolar. The responses were mostly positive, but revealing.

I know I’m an impossible Old, but I would be very wary of having that out in cyberspace where a potential employer can dredge it up one day. It’s shitty to have to think like that but it is a reality.
