A friend of mine made a good observation the other day:
We have both said many times, "I saw the headline but couldn't read the story." Many reputable sources limit you to five articles. Fair enough. As a former newspaper man, I understand that at the end of the day, it's a business, and people need to be paid for their work. Reliable information having a choke point isn't good. Most folks can't/don't want to subscribe to 20 different papers.
On the flip side, he pointed out, Fox, Breitbart, OAN, The Federalist, etc. will feed you all the bullshit propaganda you want to consume for free.

I don't have a real comment or solution. It's just an observation.

I’m in favor of the average elected Republican being punted into the sun, but this suit isn’t quite that clear cut. They are arguing because they don’t abide by the non-discrimination rules that they are in jeopardy of losing access to school lunch funds, not that they are specifically trying to find LGBTQ kids and take away their cafeteria trays.

OMG, a tweet taking a complex issue and distilling it down to an inflammatory headline somehow misstates the issue. Never have seen it here.

My favorite thing is when someone stomps into the politics thread and complains it’s the way it’s been for…DAMN NEAR 20 YEARS.

Huh. A minoritarian party trying to rig the game.

Could have knocked me over with a gas chamber.
