No matter how honorable his intentions, Licht will be doomed by the eternal dilemma of all cable news networks. The gathering and production of actual news is very expensive, while having people sitting around a studio talking shit costs relatively little. Sooner or later, the latter is what will become your network's primary offering.

Do Democrats/liberals only wear the “I Voted!” sticker?

In 15 years of social media, I can’t say I’ve seen someone I would guess is a republican or a conservative wearing one.

 

I always come out of the precinct wearing my "I Suppressed!" sticker.

 

24-hour news cycle, reality TV programming, and social media is the downfall of the American experiment.

It's really not a 24-news cycle though. Pretty rare for any of the cable nets to be broadcasting between midnight and 6 a.m. EST. I'd argue it's reporting before anyone really knows what the hell is really going on that is the problem.

 

Or on the weekends.

I don’t know how many times I’ve flipped to CNN after seeing major breaking news on Twitter and gotten a rerun of “The 1980s” or Bourdain.
