Every time I think about how these clowns were enabled by Trump's victory, I'm reminded of how horrible a candidate Hillary was and just as importantly, how she was the wrong candidate at the wrong time.

She wins, most of these folks are back underground where they belong.

I don't know. Trump wouldn't have been able to help himself. He'd have bashed Clinton for four years and then pounced on the opportunity provided by the pandemic. Rather than pretending it wasn't there, he would have criticized the slow fedruhl response, called himself a man of action and won in 2020. And he'd have brought his klan along for the ride.

Does Posobiec mean pseudo-intellectual fraud in one Eastern European language or another or is that Cernovich?

A plausible scenario, but hard to say whether the GOP would have broken with history and gone with Trump a second time in 2020 after losing. The MO of both parties has been that you get one bite at the apple once you've been nominated. A repeat losing nominee hasn't happened since Adlai Stevenson Nixon, who lost in 1960 and then won in 1968.

    I mean I hear ya.

But as country we went to a restaurant and said “that steak looks over cooked and chewy; I’m going to have the shit sandwich instead.”

Democrats really need to learn that lesson. Hillary was not only a terrible Campaigner she was viscerally hated not only by republicans but many independents and a decent slice of democrats. Americans have no problem with someone claiming they got next if it’s at the Basketball court. But Hillary and her team asserted that Hillary not only had next, she was owed the presidency. There’s no level on which she’s as bad as trump. But trump aside, she was Nixon in a cheap rayon pants suit.

Would’ve been nice to hear that in real time, instead of in a book two years later.
