I know this is well-trodden ground, but what do you guess is the retention rate for print readers being told to go to YouTube for the news?

That is the Appleton paper. I can only assume their deadline is midday and before the game ends. I have a noon college football game on Saturday and a 12:30 print content deadline for Sunday's edition. I'm gonna ask about running a tailgate photo with a refer to our online coverage.

That paper is lucky it still has a Monday edition.

The only reason a Monday paper exists anywhere in Wisconsin is for Packers coverage.

I would say otherwise. If the Monday edition is just a bunch of ads and three-day old weekenders, with no NFL coverage, why bother? That’s not lucky at all. It’s just embarrassing.

Are the deadlines set late enough for a 3:00 CST or night game to be included in the Monday paper?

I think Green Bay and most if not all the Gannett Wisconsin papers are printed in Peoria. Is that correct? If so what happens if the Packers win the Super Bowl. The distance from Green Bay to Peoria is 342 miles. Would it be possible to keep the presses open until after the Super Bowl ends and still distribute the paper the next morning?

Wouldn't be unheard of for the deadlines to be too early.

When I left McClatchy, not a single California paper had a local deadline later than 6 p.m., and that was Sacramento. The others were all between 4-5:40 PT.

They might as well move half the papers to afternoon papers at this point, because the current content mimics them.

Our local Gannett paper has deadlines for print of 3 p.m., and noon for sports. Which is asinine that it isn't reversed, but still ...

Hey, sometimes those press releases about cops and firefighters giving each other awards don’t come out until 1:30!

Yep, Peoria. Gannett/Gatehouse just sold the old Milwaukee Journal Sentinel printing plant this month to ChiTrib owner Alden Capital for $26 million. IIRC, the MJS spent $100 million to build the place in 2003, and it was state of the art at the time. So the Journal Sentinel is printed in Peoria too, as well as Green Bay and the nine other Gannett papers in Wisconsin.
