I would not have expected Brad Hand to come up that poorly.

Tonight's postgame show is brought to you by ... can't find it, to hell with it.

What I will say about this enlightening discussion is that it could have been all or none of these answers. Though Twins fans would certainly appreciate a postseason win, pitching Bieber (whose effectiveness might have been highly compromised by short rest -- some guys can do it and some can't) only does so much good if the Astros have you in a 3-0 hole before he can pick up the ball again. Though the situation OOP describes is certainly within the realm of possibility, as Cleveland's ownership is well known for its penury, I also think Terry Francona of all managers isn't going to abide getting jerked around by ownership in the middle of October. He don't need this job. Also, we have no way of knowing whether or not Cleveland might have been considering a 2001 Randy Johnson Starter's Relief Appearance if the game had been tighter down the stretch. If you use him there you might be able to get a rally before he goes into the red zone. If you use him off the jump and he doesn't have it, you might be down 4 or 5 runs and now trying to put together seven innings. There's too many variables or possibilities to assume any one thing.

Cleveland was playing with house money for the last month and they walked away from the table with what'll probably be as satisfying of a season of any team in MLB that doesn't win the Series. Cleveland fans should have very little to be mad about other than that they have to live in Cleveland.

Never gets old (as I pop a beer and get ready to watch a game).

Joe Davis telling us The Masked Singer will be on at its regularly scheduled time on the West Coast: Not even close.

Padres decided they were going to make some cool rules of their own.
