I am just curious. How much of an advantage is it for a sportswriter to work in the New York market?

For example, if you are a PBP broadcaster for a team in the New York market it seems like your chances of moving to the network are better. Does the same thing hold true in print? Does working in the publishing center of the country open up more opportunities?

If you can make it there, you'll make it anywhere.

What does that mean? For example, the Denver Post and Newsday have both just advertised for Pro Football beat writers. Are the standards higher at Newsday?

Think there maybe is a song called New York New York and it could be a lyric.

Probably sung by a one hit wonder and then picked up by some lame ass minor league team to be played over and over. I blame the mafia.
