My wife is a replenishment manager at a Michaels arts and crafts store in The Villages. The executives obviously don't bother to cater to their locales' populations when they send stuff to the stores.

Her store received a bunch of "Pride Month" items when that was going on. They just sat on the shelves, unsold. "Let's Go Brandon" merchandise would have flown off the shelves.

With Lake losing, almost all of the high-profile trump candidates are done. Other than Vance and TBD on Walker.

The country sure feels a little bit better thanks to these midterms.

 

Plenty have offered their criticism of the candidate polling. I think something was badly flawed with the polling saying what issues were driving people’s votes. Over and over we were told preserving democracy and the rule of law was off the radar, and Democratic candidates barely mentioned it. You’d have never guessed we were less than two years removed from January 6. Even the committee was treated with the importance of track agate by September. But quite clearly it was no worse than 1A behind abortion in motivating voters to set aside historical patterns and a turbulent economy wrecking their budgets. Do the would-be gurus not even know the right questions to ask? Something got badly disconnected somewhere.

 

I realize these races are close, but I'm still amused that 538 was wrong on Nevada and Pennsylvania Senate races and claimed Trumpists had a 59% chance to win control of the Senate.
