They need Warnock to win to do that. In a 50-50 Senate, the committees have equal membership of the two parties, and the Veep can't break committee vote ties. So GOP could block any subpoena vote.

Honest to God, I've been waiting for a chance to share this. Saw this plate on another car outside my dermatologist's office last week and just had to shoot (a photo of) it. Twelve-year-old boys are giggling at the idea of naming a car dealership in that town.

    News updates pouring in now:

Lady G is biting down hard on his inner cheek there
because the big strong Black stud just said "erection."

Later, asked to address it, Lady G said, "Let me assure you, my erection is all about the people, too. ... Also, does anyone know if Herschel left his room number? ... Asking for a good friend of ours, thanks."

Ted Cruz, however, spoke freely : "It's all about the erection.
I'm here for Herschel's erection. This is off the record, you know."

Party chief Mitch McConnell, hiding in a basement somewhere, could not be reached for comment.

Journalists of all stripes need to learn that the general public does not care about their battles for access. The public does not care about ethics or promises in this area, no matter if it is an event at the White House or clubhouse access at Fenway.

Why? Because the public doesn't trust journalists. So they immediately side with the Sox or the White House, especially if they are fans of the Sox or the current White House occupant.

Some battles should be fought in public. Battles over access shouldn't. Journalists will never win in the court of public opinion.

    Lunatic fringe
    I know you're out there
    You're not in hiding
    And you hold your rallies

    I can hear you tweeting
And we know the new swift-boating
We're wise to you this time
(We're wise to you this time)
We won't let you kill the voting
    Lunatic fringe

    In Fox Nation's last streaming
    This is election season
But hopefully you won't get too far
'Cause you've got to blame someone
    For your own confusion
We're on guard this time (on guard this time)
    Against your final collusion
