You greatly overestimate the influence and reach of Twitter. And the story would’ve been LESS talked about if Twitter exes didn’t exercise caution on what is a very, very questionable story.

Urging of government officials? You mean politicians lobby for favorable coverage? Shocking.

Any number of other right-leaning outlets can dig into it. Why haven’t they? Only Col Allen’s NY Post went there. Why do you think that is? Nobody was discouraged from chasing the story. If anything it spurred more chasing. But you cant catch what’s not there.

I understand your leanings and the contrarian role (here) on this topic. It spurs conversation and that’s a good thing. We disagree on politics but love interacting with you on other topics.

But this ain’t “shaking the foundations of democracy.”

The story is a partisan hack job on an easy target, the drug addicted son of a politician/president. If I’m wrong it’ll come out.

Remember when Joe Biden definitely raped a woman in the hallway of the capitol? This falls in the same realm.

Maybe it wasn’t “unleashed around Labor Day” because that would’ve been irresponsible? Because it was unverified gossip/crap? Here comes the NY Post to the rescue!!!!

Among the lessons the GOP should learn from the midterms is the electorate is more plugged in and sick of this garbage.

Dismissing Hunter Biden as a sympathetic drug addict is a joke. There appear to be plenty of indicators that, at the very least, Hunter was trading on his father's position for access and money. And that's even if "The Big Guy" wasn't getting his 10 percent cut.

The laptop didn't surface on Oct. 20 and they published the story on Oct. 21. IIRC, the laptop first surfaced in late 2019 or early 2020 and they spent quite a bit of time picking through it and vetting it like you would any story of that magnitude, where you have to dot a million I's and cross a hundred thousand T's.

The two things aren’t mutually exclusive and pretty common with children of rich/powerful people.

You are also greatly overvaluing the journalistic integrity of the New York Fucking Post. (Hint: there is little to none).

You realize it was Col Allen’s NY Post that put two innocent people on the cover and blamed them for the Boston Marathon bombing? And got the paper’s ASS sued off and had to settle?

Same guy they brought back to make the NY Post more trumpy and lead his reelection campaign. Same person who ran with the Hunter Biden laptop story. So very credible.

But, he was probably shitfaced drunk when he made both decisions. So there’s that.

So if this story was such a crock of shit, how come they haven't been sued over it?

Thus far it’s not in the same actionable realm of committing murder through terrorism. But you know that.

That adds to my argument the story is pure political bullshit.

The point is that the people who were pushing the story and publishing the story have no credibility because they’ve constantly lied in the past.

There may be factual info from the story. Maybe. But that’s going to get ignored when the people pushing the story cannot be believed to tell the truth about anything. It’s the boy who constantly cries wolf, and now they’re upset because nobody believes them when the wolf ate their face.
