This, and Williams had enough problems righting the ship after Eddie Robinson stepped down.

FWIW, from the way outside looking in, it doesn't seem like Ed Reed will bring quite the circus that Deion brought to Jackson State. Reed seems like more of a grinder built in the mold of a traditional coach, rather than the showman that Deion is.

Colorado will probably be coached better. But even though the Buffs were terrible, is Deion upgrading the talent at all by bringing in a ton of FCS guys from Jackson State? I know they're a temporary bandaid, but still ...

He’s there two years. If the 2024 team is 8-4, he’ll be off to a new destination in Texas or Florida. If they’re 6-6 or worse, he will quit and return to TV.

Petrino is bailing on UNLV for A&M. His tenure was 19 days.

He’ll be first in line after Jimbo gets canned by Week 5 next year.

    Well, that sucks.

I had all sorts of Bobby in Las Vegas stories at the ready to relate with my own.

Only oil fields in College Station.

    No corn fields.

That’s what Odom gets for hiring a piece of shit like Petrino in the first place. That’s gonna be a clown show at UNLV and the last time Odom gets a top job.

Yes, the boosters getting their way has such a great track record. Thank God for Auburn never learning.

Yeah. I just had a mental picture of the new Black HC at AU telling the big boosters that his time was too valuable to waste on rich old white men. "My time is much more valuable than that."

Jimmy Raines might die on the floor of a stroke two minutes after he heard those words.

The talent will be better. The team last year had three starters in the secondary transfer out who wound up starting at TCU. USC and Oregon. Travis Hunter and another kid from Jackson State who was All-Conference can only help. Sanders son will be a better quarterback. Colorado had one decent wide receiver last year who returns. Sanders has brought in two four star freshmen who are certainly better athletes than the other returning wide receivers.

The team will have more speed. But Sanders problem is that last year if the Buffs lost 10 games by more than 23 points. They could be the most improved team in the country and go 3-9.
