Lanegan probably had the best voice among the grunge set, and that includes Cornell and Vedder. Or, at least, I liked his best.

Atlanta Rhythm Section keyboardist Dean Daughtry, who co-wrote two of the band’s best known ‘70s rock hits, “So Into You” and “Imaginary Lover,” has died at 76.

I caught them at the Champagne Jam at Georgia Tech's Grant Field 1n 1979, with Cheap Trick, Heart, Bob Seger, and ARS. Helluva show.

By the time we moved to Doraville in 2001, it wasn't much in the country at that point. Same with Lawrenceville and Snellville. Atlanta swallowed up a lot of pretty scenery.

RIP, Dean. Also part of the Classics IV and their hit, "Spooky."

Yeah, since the Classics IV basically were ARS, their cover version of that was very good indeed. More experience, better productions, and playing it a thousand times by then. I miss the sax solo, but the guitar that replaced it was damn good.

No Dennis Yost on the lead vocal, but it's still a very fine cut. Classics IV with Spooky, Stormy, and Traces, such good songs.

    Sorry to read that.

I certainly don’t know all of Verlaine’s work, but Television’s Marquee Moon album is outstanding, and Verlaine and Richard Lloyd absolutely shred on the title track.

    RIP

Marquee Moon is one of the ten best albums I've ever heard. RIP.

The second television album was good, but couldn’t catch the raw intensity of marquee moon.
