It's a trip going back thru this thread. Ten years! Lots of cool SJers we don't hear from anymore (where art thou 21, Boom, Mizzou and a few more) and...some others. Also, ESPN The Magazine doesn't exist, SI may as well not exist and I'm not sure any legacy media would get a sitdown with Jordan or an equal. And Jordan is still desperate to be the center of attention, as we all learned when we had nothing else to do in April 2020 but watch The Last Dance. And Jordan *IS* about to turn 60. Welp.

 

Why and for how long has Thompson's Twitter account been suspended?

 

I don't think it's suspended. I think he bailed on it.

If I recall the story correctly, he reasoning was "why make it so easy for anyone to 'motherfuck' me?"

 

No more Thompson Tweets? Hold me now.

Also, FWIW - Any time someone changes their handle on Twitter, some opportunistic fuck will jump on the old name and try to impersonate them, before getting suspended. I've seen it happen four or five times recently, given that slow exodus from the platform. It might not be the case with Thompson, but if someone you like on Twitter suddenly disappears, you might want to Google their name and "Twitter," since you can often find their new account that way.

 

I missed the Michael Jordan piece the first time around. Holy shit, that was well reported and well written. And I thought once upon a time I could hang with guys like this. I was clearly young and stupid.

 

I was already jealous of Thompson because he’s the executive producer of “True South.” Now, this:

Just want to point out that DSD was ahead of his time on calling out Thompson tipping his pitches.
