He was a security guard, not a cop, but still. The Brownshirts are out.

Did you see the story about Trump having stiffed so policemen working his rallies in so many citys that he's having to go to smaller, more distant towns to avoid paying?

    WaPo:

"Former congresswoman Liz Cheney (Wyo.), who waged a losing battle to steer fellow Republicans away from former president Donald Trump after his supporters attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, accepted a teaching position at the University of Virginia, the school announced Wednesday.

Cheney will serve as a professor of practice with the University of Virginia Center for Politics, in an appointment that runs through the end of the year, according to the announcement."

She'll find a friendly red-leaning district in the general NOVA area to reside in and will run for the House from there in 2024.

Sure. Marking time, making a buck, adding to her resume, still hanging around D. C.

Academia - particularly short-term teaching gig - is the last refuge of out-of-work politicians. It gives you something to do while you are waiting for the next thing. Oregon's last governor is spending a few weeks in Cambridge this Spring with a Harvard gig. Figured Biden would hand her a federal job or ambassadorship. She was born in Spain, but its filled by a donor - but Italy is vacant (holding it open for Pelosi?)

The list for those looking for gigs - Syria and Haiti also still open.

Some of these countries, an ambassadorship can't be too tough. Just jet in for a day or two a month in market.
