The NYT says the author of its piece is “a student at Princeton” and neglects to mention Mr. Freethinker is this year’s publisher of the Princeton Tory.

The Times has been publishing stories/opinion pieces about the dangers of left-wing thought at our nation's elite colleges since I was in college 50-plus years ago. It was clickbait for the folks who graduated from said colleges at least 30 years before the article(s) was published long before clickbait was invented. It also stems from the Sulzberger family's deep involvement with Columbia University and the family's utter horror at the anti-Vietnam War protests there in the late '60s.
