Pretty much. It was a physical game as a result.

Jim Nantz at the Big 10:
"Finally, finally, the 8 under break happens, 2 and a half minutes inside of it."
Yes Jim, us basketball fans were hating the end to end basketball action. Finally, we get another media time out.

Houston, in its first full game without an injured starter, is getting waxed by Memphis. Does the injury make the committee drop them a seed line? I ask not because of the result -- Memphis is a good team -- but because of the margin-injury combo.

"Injured starter" is underselling it a bit. Sasser is a senior averaging 17.1 PPG - tops by 6.1 PPG - plus he's the best 3-point shooter among their regulars, and he's an absolute beast on defense. He was the player of the year in the American conference.

Can't remember exactly when it was or who they were playing, but I remember seeing Kentucky in an SEC game once where they blew past the under-8 AND under-4 timeouts without a stoppage. They finally got one with about 3 1/2 minutes left, then had another media timeout at the next stoppage about 30 seconds later to make up for the one they missed.

    This isn't a good look.

Unless it is making room for a conference champ that wouldn’t be at large, the committee is notorious for ignoring games on Selection Sunday. Houston is safe.

Purdue is giving one more just-before-the-brackets-are-released reminder why no one should have them playing beyond the first weekend.

I can’t believe the committee protected power 5 teams by putting San Diego state against Charleston. What a joke
