This would have worked so much better if it was still on the first page.

 

“…so dynamite it was.” in that perfect newsman monotone and rhythm just kills me every single time.

 

Not just any old car. That looked like an Oldsmobile Delta 88, a real road hog of that era. A whale of a car ruined by a whale, kind of ironic.

 

Maybe the peak of Dave Berry’s career.

The 1973 Delta 88 Royale sedan was truly a great road beast.
I drove my dad's all through high school. That car would go like hell.

Too bad it wasn’t a Chrysler. And I met and talked to Dave Barry in 2005 and he was one of the nicest people.
