I think they weren’t allowed to bring guns because Trump and his Secret Service guards are there.

If it was just Pence up on stage, bring as many weapons as you want. What could go wrong?

 

You know where you can't take a gun, where you are for sure going to walk through a metal detector backed by a Sheriff?

Courts, Statehouses, Congress. If they can pass bills or interpret laws that mean anyone can concealed carry anywhere, no training or permits required, then they can by God live and work in the same society that they condemn the rest of us to.
