He was when he left San Fran.

And compare the contract deGrom signed this past offseason to Kershaw's. Granted, Kershaw wasn't looking to leave LA, but what a deal the Dodgers got.

Smart to play them up now, since they'll be out of it by mid-May.

The difference with hitters is they won't kill you by themselves. A starting pitcher who has you down 5-0 in the third every time out won't work. You can put a hitter in the bottom third and he may hurt once in a while.

Pujols as an every day hitter was done -- they used him a lot against lefties in a platoon. And McCutchen's had a hot start in 72 plate appearances.

It wasn't that long ago that MadBum was winning series games and Kluber was winning Cy Youngs. Now their careers are essentially toast.

In the 1800s, Brooklyn's nickname was the Bridegrooms. Maybe the Dodgers should change to Expectant Fathers. Mookie Betts just came off the paternity leave list as Evan Phillips went on baby watch.

St. Louis, for a couple of years, were called the Perfectos. Somehow, I doubt they were perfect.

Brooklyn was also the Superbas for a time. Not exactly sure how that was pronounced. Either was a better option than the Boston Beaneaters, in my opinion.
