    Wondering how much is the looming Smartmatic suit playing into this decision? Dominion just wanted to be made whole. Smartmatic has said it will not settle without a jury verdict in their favor. "Parting ways with Carlson" could be construed by Fox as perhaps showing a potential jury that the company is proactive in "weeding out the bad apples" at the forefront of the defamation.

    And like in the Lemon situation, May sweeps begin next week. What better time to send your biggest headache packing and get media attention focused on a new cast of idiots, just in time for Nielsen ratings season?
