Well, the shows I care about most (Succession, Yellowjackets, Barry) are already on right now and there's a shit ton of backlog that I need to catch up on as it is. From what I read, this may be the death knell for soap operas, which were already a fading property.

Caught Colbert last night. It was perfect Union 101.

There many original series are doing eight episode arcs on Netflix and other streaming platforms. It used to be more common on BBC and other foreign sources, but they are much more common in domestic production than they used to be. The networks have mostly stayed at ten, but frankly, I watch very little network TV anymore.

As a former member of the Guild, I'll take the union position almost every time. The writers absolutely should be getting paid the same for the streaming content they create. Work — writing work — has value, and should be compensated as such.

From an AP update, I present to you the least surprising sentence you will read all year:

One late-night show won't go dark. Fox News' “Gutfeld!” with Greg Gutfeld will continue airing new episodes, Fox said Tuesday.

Not surprising. They don't employ actual comedy writers.
