It was OK. They left enough on the table to do a Tedless spinoff. It wasnt my favorite season but it didnt nuke the whole show either like some other finales (HIMYM Dexter etc). It was mid.

The happy end to a show about people trying to find their way to being happy.

The finale was pretty predictable but they did a good job with it.

I never got too deep into analyzing this one. It’s just one that I came away from smiling each time I watched.

Like a lot of people, I started watching when things with the pandemic and politics seemed especially bleak. Something uplifting, positive, funny and well acted/written really hit the right spot at the right time for me. I’ll always have an attachment to Ted Lasso because of that.

    Good stuff.

I think it's a slight knock on the writing of the finale that I was correctly guessing the next line throughout the episode.

But still, they tied up the loose ends as best they could.

And I'm VERY glad Ted isn't back together with his ex.

    Edited to hide spoiler.

One major quarrel now that I think on it:

How the fuck was there only one minute of stoppage time?

Any connection with real-time futbol on this show was purely accidental.

A quarrel I had was that in the airport they announced Ted’s flight to Kansas City. There aren’t direct flights from London to KC.

You kick a penalty from 12 yards. Not 18.

And hilarious that Mike Dean was the referee.

I think I got everything right, from Colin kissing his boyfriend, to Beard staying, to them not winning to Nate playing some role in winning the game.

My favorite random line was Higgins adding an Australian basketball coach to the list of candidates.

Also — The Richmond Way as the spin-off? Lot of meta stuff there, from Rebecca and Sam in the stadium to changing the book title because it was never about Ted.

Don’t think that was Heathrow either, but small quibbles. Don’t remember the green screen being so obvious in this show in regards to the football but it was really stark in this one.

That did jump out. The scene crying on the field before the game was very rough, production-wise.

Hadn’t really noticed before. Maybe they were trying for a “bigger feel” and it just got shaky.

As to other points, if they make a new series I’ll watch. Would need to be somewhat of a departure, IMO, to not make exactly the same show, just without Ted.

YOU get a happy ending! And YOU get a happy ending!

Jamie and Roy wound up with each other, right?
