That’s like the Celtics pointing to how many quarters they’ve won against the Heat.

It was much closer, but only because of the antiquated electoral college system, a relic of our racist past that has no business being the way presidents are elected, and in fact is the reason the election was so contentious. With a popular vote deciding the victor - the way every other election in this country is determined - the outcome in Georgia, Arizona, North Carolina or Pennsylvania, still in doubt on election night, would not have mattered at all.

Instead once again the entire country was held hostage, as it were, by three or four battleground states, with a disproportionate amount of influence.

At this point I seriously doubt it'll be Trump that's on the ballot opposite Biden in November 2024. I doubt it'll be DeSantis either because he's so flawed personality-wise.

Not saying he's a front-runner in waiting, but Pence is the typical social con that plays well in Iowa, a la Huckabee. Keep an eye out for the Short Bus from Columbus.

this. In a rematch it will come down to the same four states and a few hundred thousand votes, much like it did in 2016,

If Trump won the same number of electoral and popular votes, we'd never f*cking hear the end of it.

I remember Jan. 2, 2020, being at a basketball game and seeing WWIII trending. Got home, saw precisely why it was trending and really thought we were fucked that night. Turns out it wasn't even close to the worst thing to happen that year!

Does anyone else remember the following week (I want to say a Tuesday, so Jan. 7) and Washington D.C. shut down b/c of a winter storm that never came close to materializing? I've always thought that someone sniffed out a retaliatory attack by Iran and the city was emptied in anticipation.
