Legendary Buffalo WKBW weatherman Tom Jolls has died. A community icon for decades, first as "Commander Tom" on a popular kids TV show, then as the "Weather Outside" man for more than 30 years.

The last man standing of Eyewitness News' famed team of Irv Weinstein, Rick Azar and Jolls. They dominated the local ratings for decades.

Co-incidentally, Jolls succeeded Dave Thomas, the host of "Rocketship 7" and the father of noted TV actor/director/producer David Boreanaz, when he took a new job in Philadelphia.

A trio that was very well known in southern Ontario too. We all watched Rocketship 7 after school.

    Biff Beeper weeps.

    RIP Commander Tom

It is Mike Randall who is still working though I believe part-time.
