Please allow me to interject my feelings about Mother Nature

The heat dome is sliding east and today was a lot more tolerable. Might have touched 100º today but the humidity was a lot better. Ten-day forecast is all 90s for highs — I'll take it.

 

We've been pretty hot the last couple of days, too. Every little kiss of a breeze has been heavenly.

 

It’s 7:15 76 degrees and 83% humidity.
Summer isn’t my favorite time of year weather wise.

 

Thank you for helping dissuade me from my crazy idea of selling my house, moving to Laurel and spending $200k to upgrade a $30K fixer-upper, and still having $300k or so left over.

 

6 a.m. - 70 degrees, 90 % humidity.

 

When I was a kid, our neighbors' grands always came to visit from Houston. This was the early to mid-1970s. They told us about triple digit temps that sounded otherworldly and air quality warnings. The heat indices here hit 146 this weekend. It's supposed to be less brutal today, thank goodness.

 

... but by 1400, it could be 85 degrees. Life in and around the 14ers.

 

It is a delightful town to visit!
