I don't know if it will be DeSantis, if only because he might drop out of the race before then -- he's crashing and burning now he might not make it when the calendar turns

If you offered him a nickel more than his current contract, I bet he would readily admit everything he said was bullshit.

Well, actually it does. There is indeed a worldwide conspiracy, only it's not entirely the people you'd think would be in it, and a lot of the people in it probably don't realize they're in it. But some people just want to watch the world burn.

So would I, but I'm not a nutritionist. It ain't my fuckin' place to decide what poor people must eat.

But I heard on Faux Fascist Teevee that fat ghetto mamas are eating ice cream and lobster on food stamps as they drive their Cadillacs.

The funny thing about it is Republicans are whining about how everyone is focusing on that one portion of the curriculum instead of the 109 other parts that seem to be harmless. And yet they’re the ones who always obsess about the 0.0001 percent of the time that Hunter Biden picks his nose.

The GOP is getting a taste of their own medicine for once.

When my wife was pregnant with our first, I was making $20K a year as a one-man SE for a small paper in Bumfuck, and my wife was making slightly less. She actually qualified for WIC.

We got so much milk, cheese, peanut butter and fruit that we were actually giving a good portion of it away to some of our poorer neighbors because we were just two people and couldn’t eat it all in time. I’ll never say a bad word about WIC.

It really depends on when it happens. The filing deadlines are fast approaching and getting on the ballot in all 50 states is a byzantine nightmare with each state having different requirements. If it's early enough that they can jump in, you'd see Newsom, Buttigieg, and probably a moderate Dem governor or two challenge Harris, and Newsom probably comes out the winner. If it happens closer to summer, after the bulk of the primaries, then you likely end up with Harris as the de facto candidate.

I honestly think that's what several of the Republicans in the field are doing. Nobody is going to beat Trump in the primary, but it's not a bad gambit to position yourself as the alternative if his health fails (or the criminal proceedings move before election day 2024).

How many times must the obvious be repeated to this board. The only way Biden would stop running is if he became so incapacitated he could no longer serve. In that case, Harris would become the incumbent President, and nobody except RFK Jr. would run against her as a Democrat.
