Hey, I'd like to go back to North Carolina myself. Because my wife would be happier, and I could wear the 18 sweaters she made for me in the 10 years we were there. But not because of anything having to do with politics.

Who determines if a person fled a state?
If a retiree sells his 1,600 sf house in California for $1m and he moves to Arkansas because of the cheaper cost of living, did he flee? What about the Dallasite who does a similar move?
Are snowbirds fleeing winter or politics if they move from New Jersey to Florida?

 

I think it is fair to assume that the migrant workers fled the state after Florida passed a law that was going to jail or deport them. It's likely that grade school teachers, librarians, and college instructors who leave their jobs and move out of state could be fairly said to have "fled the state".

I'm not sure how you accurately categorize the other people moving out of the state.

 

When Barack said the cop who arrested Henry Louis Gates acted "stupidly" the rage over that comment continued for years.

Trump...in one post said a prominent Dem was a "sick pyscho" who will live in hell aaaand launched a truly deranged attack on the USWNT team....and it gets a shrug.

His comments also came around the same time he attacked a judge, prosecutor and witness associated with his federal criminal trial!
