Going to go out on a limb and say none -- much less all three -- of those franchises have had non-scheduled split doubleheaders in August in their SoCal. existence.

It will never stop being funny to me that they spent however many kajillions of dollars on SoFi and instead of a retractable roof they just left the sides open like a state park pavilion you’d rent for a family reunion cookout.

Angels just got a game-saving triple play in the top of the ninth. Score is 6-6, Rays have first and third with no outs. Infield halfway up. Hard grounder to short, Rengifo looks the runner back at third, flips to second and on to first. The runner on third tried to score and was thrown out at the plate. Angels coming to bat in the bottom of the ninth.

This has not been a good month for the idea the Rays are smarter than everyone else, or anyone else, for that matter. What an awful dash home by Diaz.

Loved it even more since I have money on the Angels.

Angels rally fizzles in the bottom of the ninth despite getting a runner to second with no outs. Bonus panels.

BTW, Ohtani had a grand slam in the second inning. So a grand slam and a triple play in the same game.

Nevin lets his closer throw 43 pitches tonight in what looks like a loss ahead of a doubleheader tomorrow.

Carlos Estevez gives up 3 in the 10th, Rays win, 9-6, as the Angels revert to form.
The Rays used almost of their pitchers, too.
