Until YouTube came along, I never knew there were other people freaked out by the Viacom credit on old syndicated shows.

Well ... yeah. The distorted synths, the tympani on a crescendo and the looming logo continuing to creep closer.

Don't know about "doom," but unsettling wouldn't be an overreach.

The V of Doom phobes do appear to have a irrational fear of the V.

The Big D will solve that.

I have this dream about once a month. Super vivid and upon waking up I exhale with relief for like 10 minutes every time. While sometimes I can trace it to being on deadline for a story, I think, like you, it's mostly my subconscious guilt over not taking college too seriously and blowing my parents' money (which was a lot of money back then, but not nearly as much as it would be right now...which is probably why I am freaking out since I have a child going into sixth grade).

I get recurring dreams, and common dreams. BUT YESTERDAY nap had me dream about Trump, naked, walking upstairs pulling my socks off as he went. His belly large, his penis small. but in fine shape. I can't even decipher.

I have a totally rational fear of ever recalling this post again.

I have this recurring nightmare about school.
It's called getting up and going to work every day.

Your irrational fear is now the entire concept of sleep.

Took my oldest to start college last week, I'm certain she'll do better than I did. And we're making her pay for half, which would have done me some good back then.

In any restaurant, I will not sit at a table with my back to the front door/main entrance.

I had a fairly prominent off-lead part in my senior class play, and I’ve had that same occasional nightmare that I’ve had to go back to school; I’m back on stage and that I’ve forgotten all of my lines.

During my mother’s senior year of high school, her father (my grandfather) died. My mother was distraught, was doing poorly in her classes and she said a lot of her teachers felt sorry for her and essentially gave her a passing grade anyways.

However, her guidance counselor had told her to take this one English class, and it turned out to be the wrong one. The class my mother took didn’t count towards graduation. Even worse, the school wouldn’t let her walk at graduation because they considered her one credit short (we’re talking about the dark ages of 1960 here).

Mom took a night class for English to get her diploma, but it stuck in her craw about not being able to walk at graduation. I told her that if it was nowadays, the school would be letting her participate without a fuss because they’d be afraid of bad publicity and a nice big lawsuit.
