That worked in my market, too. Listicles helped us keep jobs when COVID was at its worst.

To piggyback on the Marshall Johnson post, if he couldn't get a score from th dispatcher at a sheriff's office, he'd phone the rescue squad or fire department knowing EMS would staff the games. The Virginia AP score list would run big schools to small schools top to bottom with each classification's scores running from eastern schools to western schools. Now it's alphabetically without regard to classification.

I think AP in Tennessee still lists scores east to west, broken down by the three grand divisions.

I still look for the Slippery Rock score when I see AP national scores, either in the paper or online.

Out this way I'm surprised the G papers can do anything, between Salem and Eugene I counted about 20 total newsroom staffers (editors, reporters, multimedia etc).

That's because Shippensburg whipped their butts before 76,000 at Michigan Stadium in 1979! You can look it up!

At least GameChanger adds names to its stories, if they're provided/inputted by someone. I've seen many a GameChanger box score that just had jersey numbers listed, but that's a rant for another time.

The value to GameChanger is it provides PxP as well as pitching changes and you can suss out for yourself the turning point in the game.

I’ve seen a GameChanger box score with first names and last initials. That, too, is a rant.
