These first few weeks with massive spreads are going to be interesting. Might make it harder to cover a big number.

I bitched upthread because it felt like we were gorging on stoppages in person at UAB, including a dreaded commercial-kickoff-commercial sequence right before the end of the first quarter that made the whole enterprise seem interminable. But sure enough at the final gun it had been just a shade over three hours.

Notre Dame rival Stanford will officially become a member of the ACC starting in 2024 -
Stanford will make the jump from the PAC-12 to the ACC alongside Cal. The ACC will also be acquiring SMU. While this will likely not affect when or how often Notre Dame plays Stanford. Stanford will now officially be a “conference rival” to Notre Dame.

Can't wait till Boise State joins the SEC.

Nothing says Atlantic Coast like two teams from California.

At least they're close to a large body of water. SMU is 300 miles from Galveston, although only 800 miles from Louisville. (And 15 minutes from Tahoe.)

Don't watch much college football. When I was in the biz I was busy with preps on Saturday and never wanted to watch on Saturdays I had off.
Decided to tune in to the FBS team up the interstate, the Bowling Green State University Falcons.
Tuned in, saw a Liberty pick six, watched BGSU muff a squib kickoff and recover on its own 1 and throw another INT on its next play from scrimmage.
Not a news flash, but the Falcons are hot garbage.
