McCarthy already has his portrait. He accomplished his goal. Now he needs to pull the ripcord and leave it to Scalise or some more pliant sap to see their slim majority sundown.

The GOP knows they can’t pass what they want as the Senate/WH is blue. And you aren’t going to get voted as speaker unless you kowtow to the crazies because they care more about tweeting than governing. So in a sense he’s the perfect speaker for the moment.

No matter who the dem nominee is, republicans are still completely on the wrong side of the abortion issue (and several others). Is there even a republican who can point to their “accomplishments’’ other than that they did everything they could to “own the Libby’s?” Why do we keep forgetting this?

But that’s exactly what a large percentage of voters want. They don’t care about “the issues,” or ideological consistency.

They just want to be assholes to the people they feel have “wronged” them.

The case about whether public agencies can shut down or block comments on their public social media sites (and/or other similar sites) will be interesting.

A lot of them just turn off comments so avoid criticism from "the mean people." Yes, sometimes it's spammy garbage, too, either true spam or people posting the same comments-links repeatedly. But can you just shut it down? At some public meetings they don't have a period for public comment, or it's limited. Will social be similar?

She makes $30 million a year and they need the advertising dollars from the skin tag and Ozempic commercials that sponsor her ASMR-type program.

Her show sucks and she does too.
