RIP Jim Caple

  1. Being from Minnesota, I always paid close attention to the Minneapolis and St. Paul writers, and then got a chance to first meet Jim when he was covering the Twins. Definitely in the good-guy club.

We’re losing too many of them … (all my best to his family. He was a special guy).

That was a wonderful tribute by his nephew. I enjoyed Carole’s work on Page 2.

Damn, I always loved it when Steve Rushin wrote all those fantastic feature stories, and then he got into columnizing about wordsmithing, which was fine for a while so OK and whatever, but at that point he mostly wasn't writing about people as much anymore, and I sure did miss that stuff.

And so my eyes lit up when I saw Steve Rushin's byline on this tribute.
Rushin at his best again, and, as in the past, I'll probably read this one two or three more times.

Thanks again, Rushin. Top to bottom, a heartwarming eulogy all the way.
An epic tribute, as always, from one of our greatest profile writers anywhere. :)
