Good lord. trump is NOT going to be the fucking Speaker of the House. Can reputable news outlets calm the fuck down on that?

 

It's a horrible fucking idea. Which is exactly why this GOP caucus could do it.

My dorm room had linoleum floors, basic cable (I think) and heat but no AC. Spartan would be putting it nicely.

In my first apartment after the dorms, I had no heat or a phone, so I'd say the dorm was better.

 

So cringe

 

We had A/C, which was all I cared about and thus I can't remember if we had heat. I have to think we did, but again, don't care, had A/C for Aug & Sept and May. We didn't have cable...my first semester, we got by with rabbit ears. The second one, I got a VCR for Christmas and we hooked that up to the cable from that. Jesus Christ that was only 30 years ago!

 

To each their own. However, you may want to ask some students how they feel about not having to pay for overpriced dorm rooms and super-costly meal plans.

 

I promise you that the rising cost of college isn't reflected in the faculty's salaries.

 

I’m from the same era. We had heat, which depending on the room, could either be comfortable or an oven to the point where we’d open our windows even though there was a foot of snow outside on the ground in February. I don’t recall if we had AC.

Only TV that had cable was the one in the dorm lounge. If you wanted to watch something, you had to hope there was nobody in the lounge or they wouldn’t care if you asked to change the channel. In our rooms, we also had rabbit ears and usually got 2 or 3 channels, which depended on the side of the building you lived.

Some rooms had NBC and Fox. Others had ABC and CBS. A few would get a PBS station instead of one of the networks, and a few others would be stuck with the Trinity Broadcasting Network.

 

It depends on what you want and life circumstances. Wife was in her first year of law school when we shut down and went online. In her second year (which was fully online) we adopted our son. So her third year, the online classes were a godsend to keep us flexible. Plus the lectures were recorded so she could go back and study of those.

That isn’t to take away your son’s experience. I was terrible with my online classes in college. It was so easy to forget and put it off. So I loved meeting in person.

 

I mean, I understand that line of thinking. I really, really do. But first and foremost, they'd have to change their rules, which prohibits anyone with a felony indictment from being Speaker.

I also don't believe any of the (few) GOPers in Biden-win districts would go along with it.

Is 100 percent impossible? Of course not with this group of ratfuckers. But the reporting on it is ridiculous.
