The holy roller Jeebus freaks have been carrying out this charade of being zealously pro Israel for 75 years now. They believe they must support Israel which will be attacked and destroyed in the coming rapture war in which only the elite of the holy roller Xxtians will be saved, while the Joos, Mooslims and all imperfect Xxtians such as Papists will all go to hell.

So, they support Israel so eventually it can be destroyed and all the Joos will go to hell unless they renounce their religion and accept Jeebus. Allahu albar and mazel tov y'all.

They certainly are. I just can't tell from the context of the story what she was asked. If she was asked if those comments were disqualifying and she gave that answer, then she's again guilty of gutless abdication of civic responsibility.
If she was asked, "What do you think of Trump's comments?" then her response isn't quite as troubling to me.

Yep. They say they hate abortion because it’s about saving babies; but if it’s a catastrophic war in which babies have to die so their favorite deity will return, oh well.

    It’s called being a human.

The idea of humanity is the basis for some (many?) religions.

These newcomers aren’t expecting us to write blank checks to support their lifestyles. They are in some cases being forcibly relocated by egomaniacal political leaders who are using brown non-English speakers as a cudgel.

After Katrina, Houston said it was overwhelmed by the number of people who fled from New Orleans. Cities and towns across the country stepped up. It was done in an organized manner. Rick Perry wasn’t renting buses and sending folks to New York or D.C. without any warning.

As I understand his teachings, Jesus would say yes.

One thing that I will give credit to Abbott, DeSantis, etc. is that they took the Dems’ rhetoric literally and made them pay for it. Dems talked about “sanctuary cities” and “sanctuary states,” so the GOP said, “Fine, since you say you are, here are some undocumented immigrants for you to give sanctuary to.”

I wish Democrats would do the same about making Republicans put their money where their rhetoric is, but I know Democratic governors will never do this (have to go high when the other side goes low, etc). I wish some of them would announce that any state that has banned or restricted abortion rights will be considered a state that is admitting that there is room for additional people in their state.

And that since there is room for additional people, the blue states will send any immigrants that were bussed to them to the red state of their choice.

I mean, if Roe vs. Wade didn’t exist and abortion was still banned since 1973, there would be 63 million additional people in this country, plus their descendants. So either there’s room for 63 million-plus more people or there isn’t. And yet, Dems won’t play hardball.

Start using the GOP’s ideas against them, maybe tbe bussing will stop, and maybe some serious politicians on both sides can actually try to figure something out.

My old high school has painted in giant letters in front of one of the entrances: "Busses Only"

I crack up every time I see it.

This discussion makes me think of the Stone Roses' second album.
